The Federal Office for Safety in Health Care has been informed by the Danish authorities that the Danish tissue bank European Sperm Bank ApS has provided the following information:
One offspring of the sperm donor 48127/ALEJANDRO has been diagnosed with cystic fibrosis.
The donor/the donor gametes have been blocked.
If you have any questions, please contact the Federal Office for Safety in Health Care at gewebevigilanz@basg.gv.at or contact the tissue bank from which the sperm donation was obtained directly.
This letter corresponds to the current information status of the BASG. Further information will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
