As of 01.10.2013, Dipl.Ing. Dr. Christa Wirthumer-Hoche takes over the management of the AGES business area "Medical Market Surveillance" and becomes a member of the Management Board of the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety GmbH, AGES. Wirthumer-Hoche succeeds Univ.-Prof. Dr. Marcus Müllner, who has been Business Area Manager and Head of Procedures at the Federal Office for Safety in Health Care (BASG) since the establishment of AGES Medizinmarktaufsicht (formerly AGES PharmMed) in 2006.

 

With Wirthumer-Hoche, an internationally recognized expert in the field of drug approval and regulatory affairs takes over as head of AGES Medical Market Surveillance. A technical chemist with a major in biochemistry, Wirthumer-Hoche began her professional career in 1983 at the Federal Institute for Chemical and Pharmaceutical Affairs, later headed the Department of Pharmaceutical Affairs at the Ministry of Health, and has served as head of the Institute of Regulatory Affairs & Lifecycle Management since the founding of AGES Medizinmarktaufsicht in 2006. She is a guest lecturer at several universities and recipient of the Grand Decoration of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria.
