Safety information regarding the possible use of stolen ophthalmic products “MR Q SLT”
The Austrian Federal Office for Safety and Health Care (BASG) was informed that the following two products were stolen during the shipping process in Switzerland:
- MR Q SLT, model s, serial number: 1400-015, date of manufacture: 09 May 2024
- MR Q SLT, model s, serial number: 1400-087, date of manufacture: 29 April 2024
These are surgical neodymium laser manufactured by „Meridian Medical d.o.o.“.
The safety of these medical devices is not proven as any installation, maintenance and servicing of the two devices cannot be guaranteed by the manufacturer and its technical support.
Based on the information currently available, the BASG asks to report any suspicious activities involving the ophthalmic medical devices by e-mail to the BASG (medizinprodukte@basg.gv.at) and to the manufacturer (info@merdian.ch, +41 33 334 11 11).
Enclosed please find the Field Safety Notice (FSN) from the manufacturer in English language.
