The Federal Office for Safety in Health Care has been informed by the ECDC (European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control) that three human WNV infections have already been recorded in Germany, in the current season. New affected regions are: Leipzig/ Kreisfreie Stadt and Vogtlandkreis. We therefore ask you to pay attention to this in your medical history discussions and donor selections.
This letter corresponds to the current information status of the BASG. As soon as further information is available, it will be announced.
