Update: West Nile Virus (WNV) - Greece

The Federal Office for Safety in Health Care (BASG) has been informed by the ECDC (European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control) that 4 further human WNV infections have been recorded in Greece during the current season (Anatoliki Attiki, Imathia, Thessaloniki, Boeotia). Details of other affected regions are unfortunately not currently known to the BASG.

It is therefore requested that the relevant information be taken into account in the medical history interviews and donor selections.

This letter corresponds to the current state of information of the BASG. As soon as further information is available, it will be announced.
