Update: West Nile Virus (WNV) - Non EU countries

The Federal Office for Public Health Safety has been notified by the ECDC (European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control) that confirmed human WNV infections have been recorded in the following non-EU countries:
Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro, northern Macedonia, Serbia, and Turkey.

It is therefore requested that appropriate attention be paid to this in the medical history discussions and donor selections. This letter corresponds to the current state of information of the BASG. As soon as further information is available, it will be announced.
