Update: West Nile Virus (WNV) - Serbia

The Federal Office for Safety in Health Care (BASG) has been informed by the ECDC (European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control) that a further human WNV infection has been recorded in Serbia in the current season (Juzno-Backi region). Details of other affected regions are unfortunately not known to the BASG at present.

It is therefore requested that the relevant information be taken into account in the medical history discussions and donor selections.

This letter corresponds to the current state of information of the BASG. As soon as further information is available, it will be announced.
