Update: West Nile virus (WNV) – France New

The Federal Office for Safety in Health Care (BASG) has been informed by the French authorities that ID WNV NAT testing for donations of blood and blood components has been introduced in the following regions due to reported cases:

Aude, Ardèche, Bouches-du-Rhône, Pyrénées-Orientales

Please refer to the following safety alerts for further information. We ask that due attention be paid to this matter during medical history interviews and donor selection.
