West Nile Virus (WNV) - Spain

The Federal Office for Safety in Health Care (BASG) has been informed by the ECDC (European Center for Disease Prevention and Control) that a human WNV infection has been recorded in Seville, in the region of Andalusia.
We would therefore ask you to take this into account during anamnesis interviews and donor selections.
This letter corresponds to the current information status of the BASG. Further information will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
