West Nile Virus (WNV) - Cyprus

The Federal Office for Safety in Health Care was informed by the Cypriot authority that a WNV infection was recorded in a blood donor by NAT testing in Cyprus.

From June to October, WNV testing is performed on all donors in Cyprus.

Therefore, appropriate attention is requested in the medical history discussions and donor selections. This letter corresponds to the current state of information of the BASG. As soon as further information is available, it will be announced.
