The Federal Office for Safety in Health Care washas been informed that the first confirmed WNV-infection was recorded in Austria in 2014. The infection was was detected during a routine WNV PCR in the context of blood donation.-PCR detected. Since travel activity, it can be assumed that the WNV infection is autochthonous.-infection can be assumed.
