WNV Risk areas Italy

To the Federal Office for Security in the Health Care was from the Italian authority informed that in the Province Bologna (Region Emilia-Romagna) the first human WNV infection (neuro-invasive diseases) was recorded.

Based on entomological and veterinary monitoring data was the WNV NAT testing additionally in the following regions implemented:

• Province of Mantova (Lombardia region)
• Provinces of Bologna, Ravenna, Reggio Emilia, Modena and Ferrara (Emilia-Romagna region)
• Province of Rome (Lazio Region)
• Province of Rovigo (Veneto Region)

To for appropriate consideration in the anamnesis discussions and donor selections
