New recommendation for dosing interval of mRNA-COVID-19 vaccines

Due to the current epidemiological situation in the pandemic, the Austrian National Vaccination Committee recommends extending the dosage intervals for the two available mRNA vaccines (BioNTech/Pfizer, Moderna): The second dose should be administered in the 6th week after the first dose. From the 22nd day after the 1st dose, a certain protective effect can be expected with all available vaccines. The recommendation of the National Vaccination Committee corresponds to the information of the product information of the two vaccines.

Currently already agreed vaccination dates should not be postponed.
