Safety information regarding counterfeit hypodermic needles from the manufacturer Novo Nordisk A/S New

The Federal Office for Safety in Health Care (BASG) has been informed about the counterfeit product "NovoFine Plus 32G 4mm" with the batch number NE61324-2 from the manufacturer Novo Nordisk A/S.

The counterfeit products are injection needles for use with insulin pens. According to the manufacturer, the affected batch number of the original product was not placed on the market in Austria.

The counterfeit products can be identified by the manufacturer's incorrect address. The counterfeit product with the wrong address is labelled "Noco Allé", but the correct address would be "Novo Allé". The illustration shows the address of the counterfeit product highlighted in red. The address highlighted in green is the correct one of the original product.

Counterfeit products are not manufactured in accordance with the quality standards and legal requirements applicable to original products.

Counterfeit needles can compromise sterility, dosing accuracy and mechanical integrity and therefore harbour serious risks such as infection, incorrect drug delivery or malfunction of the device during administration.
