Safety Notice – Unauthorised distribution of batches 1725204004 and 1725069002 by third parties / Dexcom G7 sensor New
In this letter, the Federal Office for Health Security (BASG) draws attention to a potential risk associated with the medical device ‘Dexcom G7 Sensor’ manufactured by Dexcom, Inc. The product is a sensor for measuring tissue glucose levels.
According to the product’s manufacturer, the following risk exists: Two batches (1725204004 and 1725069002) of Dexcom G7 sensors, which had been classified by the manufacturer as rejects and were intended for destruction, were stolen and subsequently sold by third parties. The affected sensors were rejected by the manufacturer following internal tests due to an increased error rate, as they did not meet the specifications.
